As We Proceed
So I have my first born practicing his letters (he’s four years old) and he begins to get frustrated with himself and starts to cry. I tell him to relax and start again. I reassure him that he already knows how to write, he’s just practicing so that he gets better at writing. He listens and proceeds, next thing you know he’s perfectly writing his “Q’s” and “R’s”. Just like my baby at the age of four needed some reassurance, I’ve realized that I, myself, at the age of 33 still need reassurance from time to time.
Have you ever been in a place or space in your life when you knew exactly what you were doing but still felt a bit of doubt? When you don’t receive the response you hope for, when you think about the number of sales, when things don’t manifest as quickly as you planned? Then self doubt begins to creep in. At times as such, some encouragement and reassurance can take us a long way even when we’re operating in an area that we seamlessly know, understand, and could ultimately be our “calling.”
Allow yourself a moment. Even if you have to reflect on the reason(s) why you started the process initially; give yourself that opportunity to realign. The realignment can give you the boost you need to continue, and the will to push forward. I recently had a conversation with my husband about my blogs, I expressed to him that if one person informed me about my blog(s) “being a good read” and or leaving a positive impression on them; then I’ve served my purpose in that specific writing. That’s the reassurance I look for; knowing that I’ve made at least one positive impact on someone per blog post.
What’s your motivation? What do you need to do in order to continue or to take that next step forward?
Be the greatest you,
J. Renee
Philippians 3:12
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
Philippians 3:13
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
Romans 8:30
And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified
