Family Ties
After some very trying experiences, I’ve come to learn that the decisions we make not only affect us but those that we are connected to as well. Rather to attend college In State or Out of State, living home or moving out, the person you marry, having children or not having children; these type of decisions literally impose on the lives of those you are connected to.
We tend to care about family opinions. What their thoughts are and how they will feel. We may Not make the final decision based upon them but I believe we most definitely consider them. When growing up, it was embedded in my head not to be selfish, to always look out and be “there” for family. Therefore, I’ve consciously and unconsciously made decisions based on what was best for us collectively.
Are we in debt to our family because “blood is thicker than water” and it’s “family over everything"? Is making a decision with only oneself in mind being Selfish or practicing Self-care? I think we have to be true to shaping our lives in the way that will allow us to be honestly happy and fulfilled.
Make the move to another state. Go to the college that you fell in love with. Pursue the career that Doesn’t make the most money. Be Authentically You, because when you’re truly Happy with yourself those who you’re connected to can’t help but to be happy too.

Be the greatest you,
J. Renee
3 John 1:4
I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.
Proverbs 22:6
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it
