Forgiveness

I recently just had a conversation with a family member about an act. Forgiveness is something that we all want but can be challenging to give. I’ve learned from my own personal experiences that it’s a process; it’s not something that happens just because you utter the words “I forgive you.” It takes a shift in your mindset and emotions when pertaining to the individual that caused you the hurt/disappointment. It’s important to forgive the individual(s) because one; you want God to forgive you for your wrong doings and two, more times than many, the person(s) may not deserve it or even asked for it but you need to forgive them so the situation No Longer Consumes You. You don’t want past hurt to have an effect on your present or future.

At times, one of the hardest forms of Forgiveness is Self Forgiveness. Once you’ve asked God for Forgiveness it’s important to Forgive Yourself. Sometimes we feel stuck in a mind space, or in a physical place, God hasn’t allowed us to move forward but it’s only because we haven’t moved forward within ourselves. That mistake(s) or choice doesn’t make you; it’s just a moment of many in your life. Have you truly forgiving that person(s)? Have your truly forgiving yourself? Think about it and begin the process. It’s time to let go.

Be the best you,
