Choices

I once was speaking with two co-workers and we were conversing about life. One of the young ladies mentioned something about making “bad” decisions and suffering the consequences that sometimes follow those decisions. We all know that sometimes God shows us mercy and we really don’t get what we deserve. However, for the times that we do encounter backlash from a decision we make, how do you handle it? Are you a victim? Were you deserving of the consequences?

I remember telling {REDACTED} that I believe we make decisions based off temporary emotions. Even if we know that long term this decision that we make can be harmful to us we tend to still make the decision based off of immediate satisfaction. It’s what we want or at least what we think we want at the moment therefore; we don’t rationalize about the long term damage it may cause. I’ve always been more of a logical than emotional type of gal, so before making a decision I tend to think about all of the outcome possibilities. Although this hasn’t prevented me from still making some selfish choices; I wasn’t surprised if things didn’t go in my favor. As an adult, I’ve come to learn firsthand that the decisions you make, do not only affect you but those you are connected to as well. We as people need to be more mindful of our choices.

Philippians 4:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Be the greatest you,
J.Renee
